All members will have received a letter for the CAI’s Tim Jenks outlining the possibility for our industry to develop its first apprenticeship. The project launch is subject to the formation of an industry group willing to dedicate some human resources into the writing of the necessary standards and developing an education and skills package to support the necessary training and assessment. The CAI role would be limited to facilitating the enterprise and providing the training courses – the industry group has to spearhead the develop process.
This is a framework by the industry for the industry – it cannot be trade association driven – as is education and skills at the moment. For this reason we have asked for 10 leaders to emerge from our trade to form a working group. At the moment we have 7 – so another 3 are needed to kick-start the project.
If you feel your business could be vocationally involved by dedicating time to writing standards and developing assessment processes please contact the CAI Watford Office via Amanda Ward – [email protected] or contact Tim Jenks – [email protected] if you’d like more details on what is involved in the apprenticeship development process.
